Sunday Afternoons

Sundays in my opinion can't last long enough, its the one day where i truly don't need to do anything! absolute bliss, don't get me wrong Fridays and Saturdays are good, there's no better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than in the company of great friends! Laughing and chatting away,We drank cocktails and ate some fabulous food. But when you wake up on a Sunday knowing you have no where to rush to, not having to wait in for a parcel to arrive, but just stay in your Pj's till you feel the need to change, is such a good feeling.
I don't waste the entire day. if its sunny I'll pick up the camera and take a stroll down to the beach, but on days when its a little to chilly and windy, then out come the mixing bowls, an array of cupcake cases, sprinkles, edible glitter and what ever else i can reach. i go into my happy world of baking. So yesterday evening i baked!

1st of all I'd like to share with you the places where i tend to buy my goodies!!

One of the things I'm loving right now is edible glitter! it just makes everything sparkle! I buy mine from www.fairygoodies.co.uk (naturally the fairie have tones of the stuff) It comes in a rainbow of colours!

I'm also loving the Retro store dotcom gift shop, they have alot of 50's inspired kicthen wears, vintage glass bowls and butter dishes. good old English tea cups that are very Alice in Wonderland esk,
I could do a lot of damage if i had enough cash, but i have brought some Fab CupCases, i went for Red and White Poka Dots and Mushroon printed ones!

So yeah i'm most happy with my cupcake cases, oh and my Toadstool Cookie Cutter, January was a good month for baking supplys.... Oh hang on! blimey how could i forget about the wonderful baking supply shop i came across on friday!... Bake it pretty is like Wow!! so many bright sprinkles!! i might just have to drop a few hints to friends and family for birthday ideas!!

So back to my Baking!!..... As you know i'm sorting a charity night for TCT. i decided to make some cupcakes to take along and sell!... i've used a blue butter frosting as blue is the colour used by the Teenage Cacer trust for its wrist bands and badges. i've also added blue glitter, with blue and white stars.

I  made a batch of Chocolate Chip Fudge Cupcakes with a Nutella icing. I hear that on the 5th of Febuary its world Nutella Day!! Awesome me thinks! ... oh and i added mini marshmallows!

Although i never posted last Sunday, i did use my Toadstool Cookie Cutter, I made Shortbread, first ever attempet, still need to bake with it some more.

So all in all a very happy and creative Sunday!!! .....
Bright and Happy Blessings

The human spirit is stronger than anything that can happen to it.

Every once in a while something happens that makes you stop and really think about life!
Last week i learnt the news that an old school friend of mine is currently fighting cancer!, Shes beautiful both inside and out, and I'm going to try do my bit to help raise money for a charity devoted to improving the lives of young people with cancer. "The teenage cancer trust"

I'm in the process of sorting out a fundraiser night here on the Isle Of Wight. I really hope we're able to raise a nice sum. I've spoken to the lovely Debs the owner of the Wight Rock Bar in Ryde, she's totally up for allowing me to use the bar for the function. She's even suggested using a band to play and some other entertainment.

Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star.

Last nights moon shinned so bright upon the ground I'm sure no other light was truly needed. Looking up at her i could feel her energies... while standing staring i thought to myself how i would love to be able to take a photo. So i went inside and mentioned it to my Brother, he said that he had taken a photo by using his telescope! so i got most excited, bouncy up and down i asked him to set it up again so i could try!

At the moment the moon is in the phase of Wolf Moon, i know this because of the beautiful book called "The Luna Moon Hare" by Wendy Andrew. Her art is so stunning.
and to define the Wolf Moon: "The Wolf Moon is a full moon that occurs in January. Its name comes from hungry Wolf packs that would howl outside the villages of Native Americans . This full moon is also known as the Old Moon or the Moon after Yule"

So here's my pictures, i never thought it would work!

Well blow me down...

It feels as though someone out there was listing to my thoughts yesterday, because for the next couple of weeks will see me hunting around the island for some party goodies. My editor has asked me to put something together and I'm over the moon to do so. I spent a lot of time yesterday jotting ideas down and nosing about in my Mum's sewing boxes seeing if i could create some cost effective textiles. My mind is in over drive at the moment, I'm glad i have a few months before i get to the deadline, there's so much i want to get right and to have time on my side is always a winner. Sites like frog prince paperie are so useful truly inspiring ideas hints and tips,The people at sweetpea soirees have some amazing ideas when it come to putting a party together!

The Mushroom cookie cutter will come in handy!! along with my Dragonfly and Frog cutter. Will post a few of my finds and anything i make I'll note on here as well.
I'm one very happy faery!

Hopes,dreams and wishes!!

I love a good celebration, it doesn't matter what the occasion is a Birthday a Wedding or Seasonal event . I have many dreams and one of them is to be a Celebrations Planner. i've been given the chance to do a few and loved doing every one of them, but i want to up my game and really draw my thoughts and ideas out from there hiding place. See i've never been one who has a natural talent, i can't draw and i would never be able to write amazing stories, my hands and my brain haven't got any coordination when it comes to that sort of thing, their like an old married couple bickering and moaning but really couldn't be without eachother and when they do behave i can do parties! but like i said theres much i can and will improve on and i've found some inspiration.

Browsing the net can be quite re-warding at times and on this occasion i've been pretty blown away

These lovely creative people put so much effort into what they do, i hope to be able to let my creative side come out and achieve something on this level,

Spring on the horizon

Now i know we've only really just arrived in the new year but my article for the next issue of Fae Magazine is all done and ready to go. This Issue is all about Imbolc (Celebrated on the 1st Feb, its the return of the life-giving forces of spring ).

Also to kick off the first of many faery events to grace this years coming months is the Spring Avalon Faery Ball  This night of magical enchantment is hosted by my dear friend Karen Kay

Me and my Mr are huge fans of the faery balls, we've been going every year since 2007.Here we are at the 2008 Penzance Faery Ball down in Cornwall. (Photo taken by t.p.f Photography)

... abit more about me

As mentioned I'm a Faery writer, its one of the newer things i've put my hands to, But i've always had a love and fasination with the Fae World, i have wings and everything! I take great joy in devling into the hidden magic of our Celtic Isles!

I'm a child at heart who still finds the magic in a rainbow after a rainstorm.
I try to see the world in multicolour even though it can be hard when theres a lot of grey that surrounds us.
I enjoy walks through the woods, dipping my toes into the sea and seeking out little cafes with delightful goodies!my camera follows me everywhere!
Baking!! also a passion of mine! my specialty is cupcakes!!!
